Prayer

Matthew 6:5-8

5) But when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
6) When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7) And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of theirmany words.
8) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matthew 6:9-13

9) Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10) Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11) Give us today our daily bread.
12) Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

In Agreement With David For The New Year

Psalms 139:1-4; 17,18; 23,24 {NIV}

1. O Lord, You have searched me and You know me.
2. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar.
3. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.
4. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely, O Lord.

17. How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

23. Search me, O Lord, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
