The Prayer Of Jabez;
His, Your, and My Posterity

In 1Chronicles, we find the historical records from Adam to Abraham.
Out of one of the clans of Judah came Jabez - 1Chronicles 4:9-10
The name Jabez sounds like the Hebrew word for pain, sorrow and grief.
Webster's New World Dictionary & amp; Thesaurus defines posterity as; 1 all of a person's descendants, 2 all succeeding generations.
The thesaurus gives the following synonyms: descendants, breed, children; and we are advised to seek further information by referring to the words; Family and Offspring.
Referring to Family we get the definition Dynasty.
Dynasty is given the meaning, a succession of rulers(those who are in charge) who are members of the same family.
1Chronicles, 4:9-10, refer to the posterity of Jabez
9.) And Jabez was more honourable than his brethen: and his mother called his name Jabez saying, Because I had him with sorrow.
According to Jabez's mother, he was a born loser. Because the mother had suffered through his birth, she had named him accordingly.
But Jabez had his own sense of personal identity and self-value. Not only was he more honorourable than his brothers, Jabez was a man who believed and trusted in the Lord and believed in the power of prayer.
1Chronicles 4:10, And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast (territories) and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!
And God granted him that which he requested.

We all have our posterity, we all come from some lineage, some ancestry, some family. We all have a name that's been given to us by someone.
Perhaps our name was given in love, care and honor or perhaps in remorse, regret or grief.
But God has a master plan for every one of us.
All we have to do is ask.
In Matthew 7:7-8, the Lord says to us,
7.) Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8.) For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Today is your day, this is your hour, ask the Lord to bless you indeed and enlarge your territories and ask that His hand will be with you and that He protect you from evil.
As the Lord did for Jabez, He will grant you that which you request.
